Free Realms. Warhammer Online. WildStar. Asheron’s Call. We’ve lived through so these and so many other MMO shutdowns over the years, leaving behind screenshots, music, friendships, and memories.

It’s the latter that I wish to discuss today. Personally, I cherish those great memories from past MMOs, because they go a long way to making time in that game not a wasted investment. Remembering the hilarious fails of City of Heroes door missions or encountering General British in Tabula Rasa are part of the geeky tapestry of my online history.

What are some of your favorite memories from shuttered MMOs? What did you take away from these games that you will treasure for years to come until senility arrives?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
