Atari has announced Pong Quest, an RPG based on its iconic video game Pong. The company has fallen from grace since achieving success with Pong in 1972 but Atari has released spin-offs of its most popular series as it tries to get back on top.

In Pong Quest, the new game from Atari and developer Chequered Ink, a Pong paddle has been turned into a playable character with a face. In the game's story mode, there will be "RPG-esque battles" set in dungeons from other Atari games like Centipede and AsteroidsPong Quest also has online multiplayer for four players to enjoy together, Pong paddle customization options, and more than 50 Pong ball power-ups.

One of the biggest Pong facts is that the game is that it was the first successful arcade game. It wasn't the first, but it is one that most people remember. Hopefully, Pong Quest will be able to build something on that legacy and be a success.
