It has only been a little under three weeks since the launch of Trials of Osiris in Destiny 2 and already some PvP players are feeling either fatigued or disillusioned with the mode. While the draw for endgame Crucible combat is still there for plenty of D2 fans, others are finding the rampant cheating, uninteresting meta, and connection errors are ruining the experience.

When Trials of Osiris was first announced as returning for Destiny 2, the community was excited, even if they saw the announcement coming. However, there were plenty of reservations to be had with the return of Trials to a Destiny 2 PvP that was growing stale and had its fair share of problems.

Chief among those issues with Destiny 2 PvP is cheating on PC. From aimbots to players teleporting around maps, there is still plenty of cheating going on in Destiny 2 and all Bungie can do is ban the account when they receive a report or watch a video. Catching these cheaters before they ruin a Trials of Osiris match is unlikely, and there have been plenty of situations where cheaters ruined runs for players.

Alongside the cheating, there are plenty of other issues that are souring the experience for Destiny 2 players. Things like:

  • Using emotes to peak around corners.
  • A stale meta that favors only a handful of weapons.
  • Flawless rewards that don't meet endgame expectations.

Ultimately, Bungie will need to respond and address some of these criticisms if Trials of Osiris is going to be as continually popular as it once was. Content creators are regularly voicing their frustrations with the mode and hoping that something will be done. Yes, they are a small part of the community but for many of them, their concerns represent a larger group of players' frustrations.

Or it's possible that the mode is only meant for this season and upcoming events within the Season of the Worthy will end up removing Trials once again. It took three years for Bungie to bring the mode back and less than three weeks for players to lose interest.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
