Though it was formed in the '90s, Weezer has remained popular throughout the decades. In the past couple of years, its recorded a cover of Africa, the internet's favorite song, and even got Stranger Things' Finn Wolfhard to perform in a music video.

Now, Weezer has decided to launch its own video game called The End of the Game Game, named after the band's recent single from their upcoming album "Van Weezer." Not only is it a great 2D run and gun platformer in the vein of Contra and Metal Slug, but it is reportedly impossible to beat.

This 2D shooter, which fans can play in their web browser, has players selecting a member of Weezer as their character. The game is very short, as within a few seconds of running to the right players will encounter the "Secret Warp Zone" and immediately fly past all 99 levels and head straight toward the final boss.

The final boss, which can only be described as a giant hipster alien, uses fireballs, UFOs, and his own foot to attack. Like all classic run and gun games, enemy attacks are one-hit kills, but players can gain more lives by picking up power-ups like cans of pork and beans and jars of surf wax – all nods to previous Weezer songs.

Weezer's next album "Van Weezer" releases May 15th.
