Avalanche Studios, the developer of the Just Cause series and games like Rage 2, has announced that it has re-branded itself, changing its name to Avalanche Studios Group, and in the process it teased its next project.

The company explained the reason for the re-branding, saying the new name is meant to better recognize the three “creative divisions” that make up the Group. Those divisions consist of Avalanche Studios itself and its two subsidiaries: Expansive Worlds, which focuses on the outdoor simulation series theHunter, and Systemic Reaction, the Group’s self-publishing arm and developer of 2019’s Generation Zero.

“Since 2003 we have built a sustainable AAA business, and over the past five years, we have broadened our portfolio with our self-published games. Transitioning to Avalanche Studios Group and its three divisions marks the start of a new era,” CEO Pim Holfve said in a company press release. “Although we have expanded to three creative divisions, our singular focus is to bring immersive open world experiences to millions of players around the globe.”

The announcement also came with a first look at Systemic Reaction’s followup to Generation Zero, which suggests that the title will be a first-person shooter, though besides showing off a shot of a snowy cave and a quick glimpse of gunfire lighting up the inside the cave, there’s not much else to go off of at the moment. Whatever this game is, though, Holfve assured that it's just one of “several games” currently in development across the Group.
