The best laid plans of mice, men, and Warframe developer Digital Extremes often go awry, and so it is with the latest update Operation: Scarlet Spear, which originally planned to release last week on PC but instead has confirmed a launch for this week instead.

The confirmation announcement also summarizes just what Operation: Scarlet Spear will involve for players of the action MMO. It all starts at the Scarlet Spear Flotilla, where players can join up in squads to either defend a beacon from waves of foes on the ground or infiltrate a Sentient Murex in the air via Railjack. Taking on these missions earn players Scarlet Credits, which can be spent on shinies like a brand-new weapon, an Operation-variant Lacera, Arcanes, and more. The update will also bring a Nova Atomica collection, Sentient decorations for your dojo, and a stylish new Tiamat Shawzin instrument.
