Ubisoft has warned that the coronavirus could impact the development of Rainbow Six Siege.

As revealed on Twitter (below), the French publisher has asked its staff, including the Rainbow Six development team to work from home.

"As news on Covid-19 develops, a work from home policy will be enacted for the health and safety of the Rainbow Six Siege development team," said Ubisoft.

"While the day-to-day experience will remain unchanged on Rainbow Six Siege, we foresee that smaller patches will be cut in the short term. This will not impact upcoming content that is ready for release in the current update.

"However, we are assessing the impact on future planned content releases and we will keep the community up to date on any shifts in timelines that might occur."

Last month, the team made it clear that it wants to make the game more accessible to colourblind players. Furthermore, it broke its peak player count record – it's now 178,824.

The French firm joins many other companies including Bungie, Microsoft, Facebook and Google, in getting its employees to work remotely. Earlier this week, CD Projekt Red confirmed its staff would work from home. However, the Polish company assured fans that it wouldn't affect Cyberpunk 2077.
