Borderlands 3 has plenty of Legendary weapons for players to collect, but not all of them are as powerful as fans would like. Plenty of new fans will want to look up which Legendary weapons are the best ones to search for, especially the ones who just bought Borderlands 3 on Steam for half off.

The latest update for Borderlands 3 may have changed that, as many subpar Legendary weapons have received buffs, something that Gearbox Software has been doing for quite some time now. One fan decided to make a video comparing several weapons before and after the update, and the results are illuminating.

Gearbox Software actually mentioned the update's new Legendary buffs in the patch notes. Underneath the notes on character changes and better balancing for different locations is a list of all the weapon changes made in the update. In total, 14 different weapons have been buffed as part of the update. YouTuber Ki11er Six decided to compare the updated weapons to earlier footage himself and released the video online.

He starts off with the Boom Sickle, which originally had a damage rate of 911x10. Now, its damage has jumped up to an astonishing 2277x10. Reviewing the older Borderlands 3 footage, he noticed that he was originally getting between 6000 to 14k damage with the Boom Sickle, which is now significantly raised to between 15k and 20k. The fire rate seems to be the same as before. According to the patch notes, the update included a fix that was preventing the buff from the "Boom" prefix.

The Boomer originally had a damage rate of 538x2; now that has been raised to 682x2. Before, crits were as low as 2100, with body shots causing a measly 1000 damage. While the damage is higher now, the Boomer still didn't improve that much. According to Ki11er Six's expert opinion, the gun "still sucks." It comes nowhere near Borderlands 3's best Legendary shotgun.

The Garcia previously averaged about 8395 per shot and had a pretty fast firing speed. Now, the Garcia has a damage rate of 434x12, compared to the previous 434x8. Along with the four extra projectiles per shot, the Garcia's fire rate has also increased by 1.3/s. It can now hit crits of as high as 11k.

Before, the Hellfire had 318 damage with a burning effect of 1002 dmg/s, which has a 23% chance of being inflicted. The chance percentage hasn't changed, but burning damage has more than doubled at 2543 dmg/s. The damage the Hellfire was getting before was pretty low, with 556 to body shots and 1100 with crits. Those numbers have now gone up to 942 and 1800 respectively.

Many of the other Legendary weapons, including the Hyperfocus XZ41, Linc, and Nemesis, have similarly increased weapon damage. Fans can watch the video for more in-depth details.

Borderlands 3 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Stadia.
