Four weeks into the spy-themed Chapter 2, Season 2, Fortnite players continue to grind away at challenges in hopes of acquiring the limited time Ghost and Shadow skins. Now, players may be able to look forward to a new way to customize their battle royale experience by way of a leaked menu option for Battle Bus customization.

Anyone that has played Fortnite knows the importance of leveling up their Battle Pass to acquire new cosmetics to show off in-game, seeing the number of options for customization grow exponentially from new emotes, pickaxes, gliders, and skins to the inclusion of items like pets and toys. Though the iconic Battle Bus has changed appearance during certain seasonal and promotional events, players have not had the chance to choose how it looks for themselves as they decide where to drop.

Fortnite data-miner spedicey1 discovered a menu option for the Battle Bus in the Locker, with the flavor text, "Jump from a personalized battle bus." The options menu item appears as a weapon wrap selection, indicating that players may be able to apply their weapon skins to the exterior of the bus, or perhaps unlock new, unique skins to personalize their Battle Bus with.

The option appears alongside a second weapon wrap option, which fans are speculating may apply to the balloon independently of the exterior of the bus. In the replies to the initial tweet, spedicey1 notes that this cosmetic slot is an old one that has been recently reactivated. This is likely in reference to similar leaks back during Season 6.

Though information data-mined by spedicey1 has proven to be accurate in the past, this feature has been in development since at least Season 6 and not yet implemented in the game, which means there's no telling if or when it ever will be. However, the fact that this option has been recently reactivated by the developers gives players hope that they are considering finally putting this function in the game.

Of course, with each new cosmetic option in the game comes a plethora of new daily and weekly challenges to complete and Battle Pass levels to climb. The inclusion of Battle Bus customization may mean players can look forward to more substantial and more frequent rewards from their Battle Pass. This equates to more content to play through and more bang for their V-Bucks

However, in a game chock full of limited-time cosmetics, promotional events, and a long list of challenges to complete every week, some players may begin to feel overwhelmed. There is a fine line between the introduction of new content and an over-saturation of content, and Fortnite may be starting to toe that line. For now, though, players can look forward to the potential of dropping in style from their own personalized Battle Bus.

Fortnite is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch and Xbox One.
