After six months as an Epic Games Store exclusive, Borderlands 3 has now been unleashed to launch on other game portals. As of Friday, March 13th, BL3 is available on Steam. For the next several days, players can get hold of a copy of the game for $29.99.
Gearbox and 2K have also announced that crossplay for PC is fully operational. That means up to four PC players can play cooperatively together regardless of whether they’re on Steam or EGS. This functionality also extends to the creation of friends list and matchmaking.
Steam players will find BL3 fully packed including all of the free updates that were deployed since launch as well as all add-on content to date. This includes Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite as well. In April, all players will see a pair of free content updates and events including Mayhem Mode 2.0 and the Revenge of the Cartels seasonal event.
BL3 Season Pass holders and owners of the Super Deluxe Edition also receive Moxxi’s Heist of The Handsome Jackpot, a recently launched content expansion. The next paid campaign add-on is expected to launch on March 26th for Super Deluxe Edition owners and is said to include “a surprisingly dangerous engagement party in Guns, Love, and Tentacles: The Marriage of Wainwright & Hammerlock”.
