Many families across the world are spending the weekend self-isolated in their homes due to the novel coronavirus. What better way to spend a quiet weekend than earning loot? That's the argument Gearbox president and CEO Randy Pitchford is making by putting out yet another Borderlands 3 SHiFT code for free loot. There's more Borderlands 3 loot than normal this weekend, with the SHiFT code granting 3 Golden Keys.
In his message to Twitter, Pitchford first says hello to the new Borderlands 3 players on Steam and then says, " Let's stay home this weekend and play Borderlands 3!" Pitchford makes clear that this SHiFT code has a time limit and will expire before 10:00 am CT on Monday morning, March 16. The key is "CTWBT-RKZZ5-6S6XS-WR33T-RHZ59." Players can redeem the key via the official SHiFT website, with the keys delivered to players through their in-game mailbox.
This marks the release of the first SHiFT code following the launch of Borderlands 3 on Steam. Since its launch in September 2019, Borderlands 3 has been exclusively available through the Epic Games Store. The game's exclusivity contract with Epic has now ended and the game can be bought on Steam, with many Steam users who have been waiting somewhat impatiently able to now pick up their game. Borderlands 3 is already the top-selling game on Steam, though its 50% discount certainly helps.
Epic Games Store and Steam users alike can use today's SHiFT code to gear up a little bit in preparation for the next several big content drops coming up. On March 26, Borderlands 3's second story-based DLC, Guns, Love, and Tentacles: The Marriage of Wainwright & Hammerlock launches. Then in April both the Mayhem Mode 2.0 update and the free seasonal Revenge of the Cartels event arrive.
