Over the weekend, fans got their first extensive look at Mortal Kombat 11's next DLC character, Spawn, by way of a brutal gameplay trailer that showcased his combat abilities, his Fatal Blow, and his first Fatality. Additionally, the Spawn gameplay trailer showed off an intro between Spawn and Scorpion, and while the forthcoming MK11 DLC character looks great in this brief exchange, he looks even better in a newly-shared intro in which he dons his classic skin.

This new Spawn intro was recently revealed by the official Mortal Kombat 11 Twitter account, and it sees the Hellspawn square off against Baraka."I don't like your ugly face," the highly-anticipated fighter says to the vicious Tarkatan, who responds with a simple "sticks and stones, human." Insults are certainly not all that Spawn has brought to the fight, though, and he reminds Baraka that he has chains and bullets as well.

While this intro dialogue is certainly serviceable, with Keith David's excellent voice acting giving it some additional appeal, it is Spawn's skin that is the real treat. Indeed, NetherRealm Studios has dusted off Spawn's classic skin, which "directly references his comic book origins," for this intro, and it is undoubtedly a cosmetic that both long-time and new Spawn fans will turn to when he releases in MK11 later this month.

To note, this is not the first time that Spawn's classic skin has been shown, as a blog post from NetherRealm Studios' Cinematic Director Dominic Cianciolo also highlighted it, and several other cosmetics, days ago. Furthermore, the aforementioned Spawn gameplay trailer did contain footage of Spawn doing battle in his classic skin, giving players an additional opportunity to see this fantastic costume in motion.

With Mortal Kombat 11, NetherRealm Studios has truly pulled out all of the stops when it comes to the design of character models and cosmetics. This can be seen once again with Spawn and his classic skin, and many fans can simply not wait to get their hands on this new fighter. Fortunately, Spawn's Mortal Kombat 11 release date is just on week away, and players will thus be experiencing his combat prowess and cosmetics for themselves in very short order.

Mortal Kombat 11 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, Switch, and Xbox One.
