The Division 2 is headed to Google Stadia later this month, and while Stadia launched to a less than stellar reception, it's clear the divisive streaming service needs some big games for its players to sink their teeth into.

One of the console's newest ports looks to solve that issue, with the upcoming March 17 release of The Division 2 on Google Stadia supposedly supporting crossplay, and allowing players to team up with friends playing online on their PC. This means players can also utilize cross-progression, with both the Stadia and PC versions of the game linking through Uplay.

Naturally, early Stadia adopters would likely prefer the game to be playable with PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners as well, however, it's a strong start that shows the service is beginning to implement some important features. With crossplay becoming increasingly common, especially after PlayStation began supporting crossplay for all gamesThe Division 2's port is proof that Stadia can offer the same services as high-end consoles alongside allowing players to enjoy their favorite titles entirely through a streaming service.

Luckily for Stadia users looking to get their hands on the game, there's never been a better time to be a Division 2 player, with the title recently adding a new expansion known as Warlords of New YorkNot only does the expansion let players return to New York, the setting of the first Division, but it also sees them go toe to toe once again with the original game's antagonist, Aaron Keener. The pack will include brand new gear, 5 new missions, 8 side missions, and raise the level cap to 40.

No doubt, The Division 2 with PC cross-play functionality will be a big game to add to the Stadia's library, however, Google will likely need a lot more to appease fans. The console's current lineup has been a massive point of contention for early adopters, who feel as though the titles being offered aren't current or exciting. With the console slowly attracting more criticism by the day, it seems Stadia is going to need to start kitting out its game library if it wants fans to stay onboard. Regardless, The Division 2 is an excellent addition that will surely bring Stadia owners a lot of joy.

The Division 2 will launch on Google Stadia on March 17.
