The gaming organization Echo Fox was a major player in the esports market. The company has been part of events for League of Legends, Call of Duty, and CS:GO but over recent years the company has seen a decline in its prominence. Echo Fox undoubtedly played a part in establishing the legitimacy of esports and bringing it to a wider audience. However, the most popular player for the organization, SonicFox, has now said farewell in a move that confirms the demise of the company.

Echo Fox was founded in 2015 when there was a great deal of optimism surrounding esports. This turned out to be a well-founded belief in its potential popularity as esports increasingly gathered views. Players like SonicFox who is an incredibly talented FGC competitor was at the forefront of Echo Fox's publicity because of their skills. Furthermore, Sonic Fox challenged assumptions of gamers by being openly a "queer, nonbinary and part of the furry community." It is disappointing to see what appears to be a nail in the coffin of Echo Fox but an exciting future for SonicFox as they go on to new pastures.

SonicFox has released a statement that thanks Echo Fox and also suggests exciting announcements in the near future. Echo Fox has been the home of several high-profile gamers and many will be interested to see where the award-winning players move on to next. The organization had issues between its founder Rick Fox and its partners and this all seemed to come to a boiling point towards the end of last year when Fox left the company. While there have been esports franchises destined to fail, at one point Echo Fox seemed to be one of the strongest players in the market.

SonicFox has raised an impressive amount of money for charities and causes such as The Trevor Project and it will be fascinating to see what venture they embark on next. With the huge financial incentives in-game tournaments, SonicFox won't have any trouble finding an eSport to compete in with their impressive history in eSports. However, who they partner with will be of interest to SonicFox's fans.

Dominique "SonicFox" McLean recently revealed their Mortal Kombat 11 Tier List and with their gaming credentials in fighting games and Mortal Kombat, it wouldn't be surprising to see more of SonicFox in this area. The other members of the Echo Fox roster will likely be exploring new options in the wake of the organization's apparent demise. However, it would be surprising to not see these talented gamers in the eSports arena again soon.
