Activision Blizzard YouTube esports deal worth in the region of $160m

A new report has said that Google has paid around $160m for the rights to broadcast Activision Blizzard's esports business.

That's according to Esports Observer, which says that this the partnership between the two firms covers the Overwatch League, Call of Duty League and Hearthstone pro-games tournaments clocks in at $160m for three years. There's no break down given as to how this deal is structured, though it would seem that the majority is focused on the Overwatch League given that this is by far the biggest esports property that the company has at its disposal.

Activision Blizzard's previous deal for just the Overwatch League was valued at around $90m over two years.

While the majority of this deal pertains to Google's YouTube platform, Activision Blizzard's esports businesses will receive the help of the company's cloud services, too.
