Anyone that has ventured into Destiny 2's Crucible on PC for more than a few hours knows that the game has a serious hacking/cheating problem. From speed hacks to teleporting enemies, there are so many ways that players can exploit Destiny 2's PvP, to the point the experience loses a lot of its entertainment value.

But while many of the hacks in Destiny 2 can be frustrating, a few are fun to witness for the first time. For example, there is a weird hack that can remove a player's weapons and send them running with fists out.

Destiny 2 fans can check out the glitch in action thanks to a clip from Destiny 2 content creator Gigz. As a frequent participant in the Crucible, Gigz has plenty of clips in his archives that showcase some of the frustrating cheats that can be abused in the game. But this most recent one is more funny than it is frustrating.

Upon spawning into the PvP map, Gigz notices that he doesn't have a weapon in his hands and he can see his fists. It's as if the game turned on a first person view of the player while they are running around the Tower, only this is Crucible and players need weapons to survive and win.

The good news is that Gigz could still use his abilities like melee or grenade, but those are never going to kill with the specific Warlock subclass he is using. Bungie did give the Dawnblade subclass a melee with range, but like most melees and grenades, a follow-up is necessary to secure the kill.

Hacks are still a very big problem for Destiny 2 on PC and with the Trials of Osiris PvP mode rumored to return next season, players are hopeful that Bungie will be able to better curb the problem. There are banning systems in place for Destiny 2 but a true anti-cheat has not been implemented.

So, for PC players there is a strong chance that their road to The Lighthouse might involve players zooming around the map or teleporting right in front of them. It's somewhat funny when it happens to a player in a casual PvP match, but when there are “stakes” involved like in Trials of Osiris the frustration is compounded.

On top of that, because Destiny 2 is peer-to-peer there is always the concern of DDOSing being used to gain an easy win. It's arguably just as common as hacking in Destiny 2, but it can occur on any platform instead of just PC.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
