PSA: The wedding attire in Final Fantasy XIV will be unlocked for both genders in the next patch

Ladies. Or men.

If you’re not already excited about the next major Final Fantasy XIV patch, you are probably not playing the game. But there’s a bit in the preliminary patch notes that you may have missed, and it’s an important change: Players will now be able to wear either the wedding dress or wedding tuxedo on either gender, rather than being limited to male characters wearing suits and women wearing the dress.

The removal of the lock also extends to the bridesmaid dresses that were previously exclusive to women (the suit for groomsmen, by contrast, has been gender-neutral since it was introduced). It’s a boon for a variety of players, whether you have a specific glamour in mind that requires using a piece from the previously gender-locked outfit or just really want to have your ladies strut around in a wedding tuxedo. It’s a change similar to the unisex bunny outfit insofar as some people aren’t going to be all that affected, but others will find it the quiet highlight of the entire patch.
