As far as little details go, Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption 2 would easily qualify as one of the most densely packed with small things for fans to notice. So much so, in fact, that a fan of Rockstar's newest entry in the franchise has noticed a small, but pretty incredible, detail about Arthur Morgan, the game's protagonist, that went over just about everyone's head.
Over on Reddit, user ChanDanGreene99 noticed that in Red Dead Redemption 2, Arthur's pupils will actually dilate depending on the lighting. This was, understandably, an easy detail to miss entirely, so it makes sense that it flew under the radar for so long. Red Dead Redemption 2 is packed with small details, and the addition of pupil dilation is certainly one of the finer ones that fans have noticed.
Of course, this doesn't affect gameplay at all, but it is the type of thing that Rockstar has become known for in its games. Leading up to launch, news broke that Red Dead Redemption 2's horses had weather-reacting testicles, leading to all sorts of jokes on the internet. Fans have noticed plenty of other things since the game's launch, but it's fair to say that pupil dilation is one of the easiest to miss.
There are likely other details that fans haven't picked up on quite yet. Red Dead Redemption 2 is massive, and animals, people, and weather all interact with each other in unique ways, which leads to some interesting moments. Moments where small, seemingly pointless but undisputably neat, details occur. These details have helped spur fans to create some impressive things in the game's world, like one Red Dead Redemption 2 photo series created by a fan that showcases some morbid moments within the game.
Red Dead Redemption 2 has almost doubled the sales of the original game, so it's fair to call it a smashing success. It hasn't quite lived up to GTA V, though that's one of the most successful entertainment products of all-time, so it's certainly big shoes to fill. The amount of detail in the game is mind-numbing, and there will likely be more things that pop up between now and whenever Rockstar releases its next game.
