Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 2 launched earlier this week, and players are still discovering all of the new content Infinity Ward released with the update. Yet the update didn't just feature new content, but also hints at what comes next. Modern Warfare's battle royale mode "Warzone" is one of the worse-kept secrets in gaming, and now datamined leaks for Warzone hint at one of the battle royale's interesting new features.

Leaker TheGamingRevolution posted two supposedly datamined bits of content on their Twitter account. The first is an audio clip seemingly taken from the Warzone mode's narration. The second is a screenshot for Warzone's "Supply Station." The screenshot shows an in-game shop UI where players can buy various utility items.

The audio seems to be part of a tutorial for new players trying out Warzone for the first time. The narrator tasks the player with visiting a Supply Station where they can purchase Killstreaks "and other special items" with a currency named Plunder. The audio clip ends with the player arriving at a Supply Station.

The screenshot shows the Supply Station menu. The player in the screenshot has earned $24,000, with the dollar symbol likely representing Plunder. As the audio clip hinted at, the items available to purchase include Killstreaks and other items. The player could purchase Killstreaks like a Precision Airstrike or a Cluster Strike, or it could purchase items like an Armor Plate Bundle or Gas Mask.

Exactly how Supply Stations fit into the game, whether they're spread evenly around the map or are only available in very specific places, isn't clear. But the inclusion of Supply Stations is still somewhat of a unique battle royale feature. There are some past battle royale games that have used shops, but Modern Warfare's Warzone would definitely be the biggest.

Given the number of leaks for Warzone that are cropping up online recently, Infinity Ward's official announcement has to be quickly approaching. It wouldn't be surprising if Infinity Ward announced the battle royale and released it in a single swoop. Modern Warfare players might be playing battle royale within a week. The alternative is also true. Infinity Ward may be working on the final setup of Warzone, which may take a while yet to fix. Hopefully, Infinity Ward is at least willing to share some information about Warzone's status in the relatively near future.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
