For months, rumors have been swirling that the various maps in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare are being prepped for the game's battle royale mode. There's mounting evidence that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is set to introduce its battle royale soon, and now the map, or at least a portion of it, has potentially leaked online.

Ryan B. discovered that it's possible for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players to explore the entire battle royale map. All players have to do is go to the Atlas Superstore, one of the new maps added with Modern Warfare Season 2, and then choose to be a COD Caster. Players are able to look at the entire map, though there are areas with very low quality textures.

While it's quite possible that the Modern Warfare battle royale map will look different than what's seen here, fans shouldn't have too much longer to find out for sure. The Modern Warfare battle royale mode is now being teased directly by Infinity Ward, and leaked details have revealed vehicles, its Warzone name, and more. There's even a space for it in the main menu now, so it seems like battle royale will be coming sooner rather than later.

An exact release date for the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare battle royale mode is unavailable at the time of this writing. However, it's possible that it will come during Season 2. The official Season 2 road map doesn't include any mention of battle royale, though, so maybe fans will have to wait for Season 3 or even later.

Whatever the case may be, it will be interesting to see just how many of the Modern Warfare battle royale rumors were true once the mode is officially announced. One of the more interesting rumors has been that the Modern Warfare battle royale mode will be standalone and not require players to own the game to access it. If so, that could have huge implications for the game mode.

More information on the Modern Warfare battle royale mode should be coming soon, but in the meantime fans should keep an eye out for more leaks like this.
