It sure looks like battle royale is coming to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

It seems that 2019's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is going to be getting a battle royale mode.

That's according to the trailer for the second series of content for the title (below), which hints at the mode coming to the military shooter alongside new maps, weapons and cosmetics. The video features a large plane with loads of soldiers jumping out in true battle royale style.

This follows 2018's Call of Duty Black Ops 4 launching with the Blackout battle royale mode which appears to have been wildly popular. That did much to make up for the fact that that title was missing a story mode.

Modern Warfare is also the most-played multiplayer title in the franchise in the last six years, according to publisher Activision Blizzard, and sold five million copies on digital platforms in its launch month of October, according to research firm SuperData.

Activision also says that the title was the biggest PC launch for the series to date, too.
