Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment continue to diligently work on new content for The Division 2. The online multiplayer shooter's next big content drop will be Episode 3, with a release date planned for February. The free update will wrap up The Division 2's Year 1 content plans, which includes 3 episodes as well as a Prologue chapter. In other words, Episode 3 is intended to be the closing chapter of The Division 2's announced story.

In a new trailer, Massive Entertainments gives an extended look at what The Division 2 players can look forward to in the new DLC. The trailer is light on story, but provides a great look at the new Coney Island setting. There is also a look at some of the enemies littering the island, which will likely be quite familiar. They're the Cleaners from the original The Division. The trailer also teases what could be a new specialization --  a flamethrower. Finally, there's a tense look at who might be the final villain of The Division 2, though their face isn't revealed.

Only a small bit of the ongoing story from The Division 2 is teased in the trailer. A scientist is being held by the Black Tusk faction on Coney Island. The Division is tasked with freeing this scientist in the hope that he'll be able to provide a cure for the smallpox epidemic that kicked off the game's storyline. Previously released details about Episode 2 reveal that one of The Division's enemies is trying to help the Green Poison virus spread once more.

As for more specific content, Ubisoft has previously detailed some of its Episode 3 plans. The update will include two new narrative missions, as well as two new classified assignments for Year 1 Pass purchasers. It will also feature a new specialization, which seems likely to be the flamethrower at this point.

The Division 2 Episode 3 is currently planned for release in February. Massive is currently planning to do a live State of the Game broadcast in which it does a deep dive into the upcoming content later today, January 29. It's not clear whether Massive will also be touching on plans for The Foundry raid, or if it'll further detail its Gear 2.0 plans. Massive may choose to focus solely on the free The Division 2 story content, since that's what players are anxious for.

The Division 2 is available now on Google Stadia, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
