The bosses coming in
Kingdom Hearts 3 Re: Mind will offer some pretty intense challenges, but one boss, in particular, will apparently be so difficult that it'll potentially "make you cry."
With a description like that, it sounds like this new boss will contend for the
title of hardest boss in the KH series. Currently, that honor belongs to Mysterious Figure, a secret boss appearing at the end of
Birth By Sleep, who boasted borderline game-breaking mechanics.

Nomura, the director of
Kingdom Hearts, requested the upcoming boss to be as hard as previously described, and Tai Yasue, the co-director of
Kingdom Hearts 3, talked more about this new secret boss in a QA titled "7 Lights and 13 Darknesses." When asked about whether or not the boss met expectations, Yasue confirmed that it did. He and his team had the boss face off against testers and developers that have defeated secret bosses from previous
Kingdom Hearts installments, and that was their general feedback. The boss apparently sports a "high number of attack patterns," and will take time to strategize against. Yasue did mention, however, that the boss isn't impossibly hard, and can be beaten without taking damage if played against perfectly.
The identity of this secret boss remains unknown, but Yozara seems to be the most popular choice of speculation at the moment. He's a character who appeared in both the secret movie of Kingdom Hearts 3 and in the final moments of the last Re: Mind trailer. Nomura considers him and his Verum Rex world to be adaptations of unused Final Fantasy Versus 13 concepts and has dropped significant hints that Yozora will play a more involved role in the future of the series. As most of the secret bosses in Kingdom Hearts follow the trend of showing up as mysterious entities and then finding further development in future installments, Yozora's sounds like the perfect character for the role.
On the other hand, Final Fantasy characters are set to return to the Kingdom Hearts series in Re: Mind -- at least, some of them are. Currently, Cloud and Sephiroth are nowhere to be found, but Sephiroth has appeared as a secret boss in every numbered Kingdom Hearts title before 3. It's possible then that he'll make a comeback as this new secret boss, though, Yozara still looks like the more likely candidate.
