For players that are looking to obtain some of Borderlands 3's best weapons, nothing fits the bill quite like a powerful Anointed Legendary. That said, tracking down a perfectly-rolled Anointed Legendary can be a truly time-consuming endeavor, but a forthcoming Borderlands 3 event should make things slightly easier, at least temporarily.

The Borderlands 3 Farming Frenzy is a limited-time event that will launch alongside a hotfix that is scheduled to go live on Thursday, January 16 at 9am PST. The event will run for two weeks, ending at 8:59am PST on January 30, and over the course of this time-frame players will find that dedicated loot drop sources are more likely to drop Legendaries, BL3 Rare Spawns are more frequent, and Anointed gear is more common.

This means that it will not only be easier to find some of the most elusive dedicated drop sources during the event, acquiring Anointed Legendaries from them will also be less painful. While Gearbox Software has not attached specific percentages to any of the changes coming with the event, it does seem that BL3's Farming Frenzy will be a great opportunity to find some very desirable loot, and fans that are interested in a particular Borderlands 3 dedicated drop should certainly carve out some time for farming.

Additionally, it is worth noting that Farming Frenzy will also coincide with a Takedown at Maliwan's Blacksite scaling event, which will make it easier for players to complete that content without a full party. For fans that prefer to play Borderlands 3 solo but have been finding it difficult to get through a Takedown without a group, this event may be just what the doctor ordered, and the increased Legendary loot drops that they can expect, thanks to the Farming Frenzy event, is an added bonus.

The announcement of dedicated loot drops back in October 2019 is something that was met with a great deal of enthusiasm by many in the community, but over time some fans have come to believe that Legendary drop rates and the frequency at which Rare Spawns appear are simply too low. It seems that it is exactly these concerns that Gearbox Software is looking to address with the Farming Frenzy event, and perhaps it will succeed in arming more players with some of Borderlands 3's best Legendary weapons.

Borderlands 3 is out now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
