Bungie's popular shooter Destiny 2 finds itself in an interesting spot at the moment. While Season of Dawn began on a high note with fans, that positivity has seemingly started to wear away as the weeks move on, especially from veteran and hardcore players who lament the lack of difficulty, end game content, and an overall goal to achieve. Even with more content still to come this season, it hasn't stopped some players from voice their opinions on how to improve the overall experience.

The latest idea to gain substantial support from fellow Destiny 2 players comes from Reddit. The idea is to simply turn Ghost Shells into ornaments rather than interchangeable gear to be equipped or make the perks customizable mods like the the armor system. Considering that these shells are simply decorations that go over the existing Ghost anyway, the idea certainly makes sense from a functionality and lore perspective.

The main reason for this recent push from fans is due to many undesirable perks applied to great looking Ghost Shells. Players have come t accept that only a handful of perks are truly useful including the XP buff Guiding Light, Speed Demon which instantly calls the players sparrow, and . With so many good looking Ghost Shells available, like the new Saintly Shell or Tyrant Shell, many players simply don't use them due to the underwhelming perks.

In fact, this whole discussion spawned from the original Reddit post asking Bungie to simply remove weapon telemetries and the associated Ghost perks Banshee's Favorite and Omni-telemetry. Both perks increase the already low spawn rate of Weapon Telemetry resources which are meant to be turned into the Gunsmith for a very small rep increase. As it stands, players don't see the value in them as Gunsmith Materials are incredibly plentiful and offer a lot more reputation when turned in.

Most fans believe this change wouldn't be too difficult to implement as Bungie has already done something similar to armor. Bungie termed the system Universal Ornaments, which arrived into the game alongside the big Shadowkeep update a few months ago. Essentially, any Eververse armor previously acquired would become ornaments that could be applied to any legendary armor in the game. The main reason for this addition was to give players more ways to customize their look without worrying about stat changes. For many fans, this is the exact same scenario facing Ghost Shells at this point.

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
