CHARTS: Iceborne DLC brings Monster Hunter World back to Steam No.1 spot

Months after its release on console, the Iceborne DLC for Monster Hunter World has finally launched on PC.

The expansion hit Steam four days ago, with the title taking the No.1 and No.2 spots on Valve's platform. The top spot goes to the regular edition of Capcom's DLC, with the second place going to a special deluxe version of the expansion. Oh, and the regular edition of Monster Hunter World comes in sixth position this week.

Third and fourth places go to Rockstar titles Red Dead Redemption 2 and Grand Theft Auto V. The former launched on Steam in December 2019 following its release on Epic and other storefronts, while the latter takes the No.4 spot even without a discount. It's possible that the game's arrival into Xbox Game Pass has brought some new attention to Take-Two's long-running title.

Rockstar isn't the only publisher dominating the Steam Top Ten this week; Microsoft has two first-party releases on the charts this week. Halo: The Master Chief Collection takes fifth place in the wake of its release on Valve's platform - as well as Windows 10 - while Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition finishes up the Top Ten in the No.10 spot.

Battle royale progenitor Playerunknown's Battlegrounds drops one place to No.7, while EA's recent Star Wars release Jedi: Fallen Order comes in eighth place.

Here is the Steam Top Ten for the week ending January 11th:

1. Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, Capcom
2. Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Digital Deluxe Edition, Capcom
3. Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar
4. Grand Theft Auto V, Rockstar
5. Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Microsoft
6. Monster Hunter World, Capcom
7. Playerunknown's Battlegrounds, PUBG Corp
8. Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order, EA
9. Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV, Koei Tecmo
10. Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition
