With the release of Borderlands 3 players endured the fact that at launch the game did not have a raid. This was until the release of the Takedown at Maliwan's Blacksite content update back in November which added a unique raid and Mayhem 4 difficulty. When players got their hands on this new content, they soon found out that the content may be a bit too challenging when not with a full squad, but Gearbox will soon be addressing that with an upcoming event.

The Borderlands 3 Takedown at Maliwan's Blacksite scaling event is confirmed to run for two weeks from January 16 to January 30. With the scaling event enabled, the player's party size is considered when participating in the Takedown event. This would mean that solo play will make it significantly easier to complete and a full four-player team's participation will be unaffected as the Takedown raid is scaled to four-player difficulty at all times.

When attempting the Takedown at Maliwan's Blacksite, it would be best to bring along the best possible weapons such as the Lyuda and the Night Hawkin to melt both regular mobs and bosses. Anointed legendaries are always a plus but players should try out the event with what they have first before deciding if they need an anointed legendary for that extra kick in power.

Remember that the game must be on Mayhem 4 difficulty in order to get the legendaries from the Takedown at Maliwan's Blacksite to drop such as the EMP-5 Dahl SMG from the Valkyrie Squad or Wotan the Invincible. Mayhem 4 may be a challenge in and of itself, but with the proper gear and build then players should have an easier time managing the difficulty.

When the scaling event is live, players should definitely take a crack at this content especially if they are a solo player. It should be way easier to farm the bosses that are included in the raid and obtain some of the most sought after items in the game such as Amara's Spiritual Driver class mod. With the release of the scaling event for Borderlands 3 players are left to wonder what is next in terms of content.

Borderlands 3 is out now for PS4, Xbox One, Stadia, and PC.
