Introduced in Destiny 2's Black Armory expansion, the Exotic sniper rifle Izanagi's Burden is considered by many players to be one of the best weapons currently in the game. That said, it is no simple task to get Izanagi's Burden in Destiny 2, as doing so requires fans to complete a fairly lengthy multi-part quest. One of the most time-consuming steps of this quest centers around obtaining a Rare Black Armory Bounty, and Bungie has now confirmed that it intends to make this process less painful in a future update.

Earlier this week, a Destiny 2 player took to the game's official subreddit with indication that after completing 24 weekly bounties and around 445 daily bounties they had finally obtained the Rare Black Armory Bounty required to progress their quest for Izanagi's Burden. The player further reported that this took them a staggering 89 days, and the post prompted a response from Bungie's Community Manager, Cozmo23, who stated that the developer is working on a "change to make getting the rare bounties less of a pain."

Additionally, Cozmo23 commented on when this change will go into effect, indicating that it is "currently planned for an upcoming update later this month." While this is not definitive confirmation of exactly when Destiny 2's Rare Black Armory Bounties will be adjusted, it suggests that the change will be coming sooner rather than later, and players that are currently grinding bounties for Izanagi's Burden may wish to suspend this activity until that change is live.

With respect to exactly what the change will be, that is not currently known, but it seems likely that Bungie will simply increase the chance for players to obtain a Rare Black Armory Bounty upon completion of a daily or weekly bounty. While some players might prefer that the developer instead completely eliminate the rare bounty quest step, an increase in the drop rate of rare bounties would certainly be an improvement, and it is a change that many fans would likely support.

At the end of 2019, it was discovered that the Izanagi's Burden quest was bugged, and it took several updates before it was fully restored to working order. While the current drop rate for Rare Black Armory Bounties does not quite halt progression in the way that these bugs did, it can still be a major roadblock for fans that are trying to obtain the Exotic sniper, and it seems that Bungie believes that it is now time to make it easier for players to add Izanagi's Burden to their loadouts.
