Darksiders Genesis is the latest installment in the Darksiders franchise and brings the wrath of the horsemen back into play. The game has been released for both the PC and Google Stadia, and so far, the initial reviews have been quite positive. Darksiders Genesis is a top-down hack-n-slash action game that looks similar to Diablo games, but still, plays and feels the same as previous mainline games in the series. So, those who are still looking to fill the void left by Darksiders 3 can pick up Genesis and start slaying enemies in the good old Darksiders fashion.

In Darksiders Genesis, players can play as either War or Strife in single-player mode, or team up with a friend in co-op mode to unleash both horsemen at the same time. Darksiders Genesis has 16 levels and takes around 10 hours to beat. Players need to battle enemies, collect resources, and solve puzzles similar to the mainline games. Most levels have different treasures and resources hidden across the map, and players can revisit a location multiple times to collect as many treasures and souls as possible. However, in order to return to a previous level, players need to get to the Void.

How to Return to a Level in Darksiders Genesis

First of all, players who’ve already collected all the secrets on a level won’t have to collect the secrets again. However, certain locked chests will be available to grant more souls, which means players can collect quite a bunch of souls to complete some challenges faster. In order to go back and play a previously completed level, players need to head over to the Void and select any of the available levels.

It’s important to note that when revisiting a previously completed level, all the enemies will respawn, which means players will have to fight their way through the level once again. On top of all the low-level grunts, the level bosses also respawn, which makes replaying levels quite challenging.

Luckily, when replaying a level, players have the option to select the difficulty of the level, so those who just want to steamroll their enemies can choose “Casual” difficulty for their playthrough. Console gamers still have to wait a few months before they can get their hands on Darksiders Genesis, but on the bright side, Nintendo Switch owners will get the same in-game features as other consoles

Darksiders Genesis is available now on PC and Google Stadia, and is coming to PS4, Switch, and Xbox One on February 14, 2020.
