Gearbox announced that Borderlands 3 would have a free-to-play weekend for the gamers who haven't had a chance to purchase and play the game. Starting November 21st, Borderlands 3 will be available for most of those who want to try it out, but it's not available for everyone.

Borderlands 3 is the newest game in the Borderlands universe, released on September 13th, 2019. This massive action role-playing first-person shooter has been a massive success for Gearbox Software and 2k Games. But the devs want to make sure that just about everyone who hasn't gotten a chance to play can at least give it a try the weekend of the 21st.

In this week's episode of The Borderlands News on YouTube, this free-to-play weekend was announced. As Borderlands 3's Halloween event, Bloody Harvest, is coming to an end, players are starting to look for whatever is coming next. Lucky for Borderlands fans, there's plenty on the horizon that was talked about in The Borderlands News, including some new free DLC, the first paid DLC expansion, and this free-to-play weekend for console owners.

Borderlands 3 Goes Free to Play For Limited Time

The weekend starts on November 21st, 2019 and ends November 24th, 2019, but only for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players. PC and Google Stadia will not be included in this free-to-play weekend, apparently. Why PC was left out wasn't mentioned by The Borderlands Show, unfortunately. Google Stadia does have Borderlands 3, but also won't feature the free-to-play weekend, more bad news piled onto Stadia's other launch problems. Great news for console players, not such good news for those who prefer keyboard and mouse. If players really love it, Borderlands 3 is also on sale this week on the Xbox Live Marketplace.

This free-to-play weekend is some great promotion for the new Moxxi and Handsome Jack DLC that was also announced on the same episode of The Borderlands Show. This will be great for those who have been looking to get into the game but wanted to try before buying. Free-to-play weekends are good for both gamers and devs, and many players will find out that there is so much to love about 3.
