Gaming subscriptions have become a standard now, with most consoles requiring players to subscribe to a service to access most online features. Over the years, the prices of these subscriptions have continued to rise, making it costly for players, especially those playing on multiple platforms. However, PlayStation 4 players are in for a treat now that Newegg is offering a discount for a 1-year PlayStation Plus subscription.

Currently, a standard PlayStation Plus subscription goes for $59.99 for 1-year access. However, Newegg is offering $15 off the price, and players can snag 12-month access to the PS Plus for only $44.99. To avail this deal, players must input the code EMCUUTU22 upon checkout and Newegg will deduct $15 from the purchase. It is worth remembering that the deal ends today, so those in the market for a PS Plus subscription should get it now while it's still available. Another important thing to remember is that now is the perfect time to get a PS Plus subscription due to the PlayStation's Store's on-going promotion. The Double Discount Sale offers massive savings on over 150+ PS4 games, and PS Plus subscribers will get twice the savings. For example, Remedy Entertainment's Control is currently on sale at the PS Store for $51, or 15% off its original list price. However, if the player is a PS Plus member, they can get the game for only $42 or 30% off.

Apart from having access to most of the PS4's online functionality, a PS Plus subscription also gives players access to free games that are updated on a monthly basis. For the month of November, the free PS Plus games available are Nioh and Outlast 2. Unfortunately, PS Plus is only offering free PS4 games given that it has since discontinued its offerings of free games for the PS3 and PS Vita back in February this year.

Meanwhile, apart from Sony's Double Discount Sale, other video game retailers are starting to offer early holiday deals ahead of the upcoming Black Friday. Last week, Microsoft revealed its first wave of deals with its Early Holiday Sale that offers up to $220 off on select Xbox One consoles and up to $500 off on gaming PCs. Microsoft's sale is live now and will end on November 21.
