Borderlands 3 players are currently farming loot in the ongoing Bloody Harvest Halloween event, but Gearbox is already looking forward to what comes next. The Takedown at Maliwan's Blacksite DLC is Borderlands 3's next content update following Bloody Harvest. And this past week Gearbox has been revealing more and more information about Takedown at Maliwan's Blacksite. New details include some of the free expansion's new weapons, as well as what looks to be a new raid boss.

During the recent episode of The Borderlands Show, Gearbox's semi-regular Twitch livestream, Takedown at Maliwan's Blacksite was showcased. The team confirmed that Takedown at Maliwan's Blacksite would feature several new bosses for teams of players to battle, including one big final boss. What is believed to be the final boss of Takedown at Maliwan's Blacksite was even featured. It's a massive 4-legged tank named Wotan the Invincible. Of course, it's possible that Wotan is a miniboss and Gearbox has an even bigger boss secreted away.

Wotan isn't just going to be your everyday Borderlands 3 boss, regardless of whether he's a mini-boss or the content's final boss. That's because Takedown at Maliwan's Blacksite isn't just your everyday Borderlands 3 content. Takedown at Maliwan's Blacksite is scaled to be for four players at level 50 and won't scale down for less players or lower levels. This is a pure Borderlands 3 endgame raid and Wotan isn't going to let players earn his loot with ease.

Takedown at Maliwan's Blacksite is going to be a different type of post-launch content than Bloody Harvest. Where Bloody Harvest is a temporary, seasonal event that has a firm ending after which its content will disappear, Takedown at Maliwan's Blacksite is permanent. Launching November 21, Borderlands 3 players will have access to all content included in Takedown at Maliwan's Blacksite whether they play it immediately or any time after.

Bloody Harvest and Takedown at Maliwan's Blacksite are just the first planned free post-launch content releases for Borderlands 3. Gearbox has expansive plans for seasonal and endgame content in Borderlands 3 through its lifespan. And that's not even mentioning Borderlands 3's premium expansions which will be released  as part of its Season Pass. Wotan will be just one of many Borderlands 3 post-launch bosses to stand in Vault Hunters' way.

Borderlands 3 is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Stadia version also in development.
