One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows has dropped a new trailer, showing off some more of the 3v3 gameplay and sharing some new information with fans. A post on the official Bandai Namco website accompanied the trailer, offering more detailed information on the new developments for One Punch Man within the two minute trailer.

The One Punch Man game, announced back in June, is being developed by Spike Chunsoft and published by Bandai Namco, who intend to replicate their success with Dragon Ball FighterZ with another stylized release based on a popular anime. While the developer has mostly worked with Visual Novels and RPGs like the stellar Dangonronpa series and early installments of the Dragon Quest franchise, it also has a history with action based games up to the pace of One Punch Man.

While more gameplay footage is always a plus for highly anticipated games, the big reveal in the newest trailer is that there will be a Closed Beta starting in October for players to get their first chance at a hands-on experience with the game. The beta is broken down into four sessions, which will take place from November 1st to the 4th, offering players four two-hours sessions to connect and try out the game. Any current member of Bandai Namco's Ep!c loyalty program can get an access code for the beta starting on October 30th, although the sign up is first come first serve, so players should be sure to grab their codes early.

Another important aspect of the game that the new trailer showcased was the character customization that One Punch Man offers. The customization comes from the player character not being Saitama, the titular character of the anime series that the game is based on, and instead players will create their own characters and work towards becoming a hero throughout the game's campaign. This is one of many deviations One Punch Man takes from others within its genre, and likely a necessary addition to make the gameplay compelling when creating a game out of a character that literally wins every fight in just one punch.

Since the game first announced that it would be the first console and PC release for the series, it has already built up some fanfare among fans of the anime and of the fighting game genre. The premise alone sounds ridiculous, but with choices like turning Saitama into more of an assist character as opposed to a featured fighter for the story mode, it seems that Spike Chunsoft knows what it's doing with the character. It won't be long now until One Punch Man is making headlines in fighting tournaments alongside similarly stylized titles like Dragon Ball and Marvel vs Capcom.

One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows will release on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with no confirmed release date.
