The Elsewyr chapter of The Elder Scrolls Online has been all about saving the cat-like Khajiit from the dragon threat. Now, players can slay those same dragons to help actual cats in the real world (along with other animals in need) with the Slay Dragons Save Cats initiative.

From now until Monday, December 9th, Zenimax Online Studios will donate $1 for every five dragons slain in-game up to a total of $200,000 to the Best Friends Animal Society in North America and FOUR PAWS International in greater Europe. The donation will be split evenly between the two organizations.

In order to facilitate this charity drive, a number of in-game events will be kicking off over the next several weeks, starting with the Dragon Rise even on October 3rd and including the Dawn of the Dragonguard event on November 26th, both of which involve slaying dragons that will be added to the donation charity. A number of other events are coming back through the rest of 2019 as well, including the Witches Festival, the New Life Festival, and the Undaunted Celebration. Naturally, all of these events will feature goodies for players to earn like pets, cosmetic outfits, and furnishings.

Players can learn more about this unique bit of philanthropy through the dedicated web page, including timing for events, information on the two charities being benefited, and even where to donate directly if you’re so moved. Now get out there and save some cats!
