Hmm. Appears I'm still alive.

Weapon Mastery is a thing in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, a progression track following your ability to inflict significant harm upon your opposition over time and rewarding you as you get better at taking out other players. But just as important for progress as blowing your opponents away is, well… not getting blown away. Hence Survival Mastery being added in test form to reward players with another arm of progress, celebrating the players who spend an extended amount of time not dying.

Experience is earned along this track for surviving bluezone encounters, performing certain actions like grabbing items, and just generally not dropping to the ground. The game also grades you on a variety of traits along the way, so players can expect rewards for being cautious and playing it safe just as much as rushing in to grab items with wild abandon. Check out the full development entry to get a sense of how surviving is itself a goal to strive for even beyond the obvious gameplay connotations.
