Fast-food chain KFC is doing more within the games industry with its dating sim and esports sponsorship.
As revealed on Twitter (below), KFC appears to be a sponsor of an upcoming esports event for Rainbow Six: Siege. The competition seems to be set for September 23rd.
KFC Gaming held a 'World Cup of Games' tournament, which was won by Ubisoft's title with 100,000 votes.
"With 70 per cent of the vote, and almost 100,000 total votes throughout the entire series, we've finally named our champion," said KFC Gaming.
"The turnout from the community was huge, guess we'll have to put together a reward for the Rainbow Six family."
Besides its venture into esports, the fast-food company is launching its own game - a dating sim called I Love You Colonel Sanders! A Finger Lickin' Good Dating Simulator.
"From the same people who brought you the bucket of chicken, comes the world's first Colonel Sanders dating simulator," reads the game's description on Steam.
The game is said to have a secret ending, multiple hours of gameplay and secret recipes. It features nine characters, cooking battles and a dateable Colonel Sanders. According to Polygon, a KFC representative said the game will be free and is released on September 24th on Steam.
This follows KFC setting up a games-specific Twitter account in October 2018.
