World of Warcraft Classic servers are back online following DDoS attacks

Blizzard’s MMORPG World of Warcraft Classic servers are back online after DDoS attacks.

The North America customer support team revealed on Twitter (below) that the incident is being investigated. Some players may still experience login issues.

The attacks began three days ago at 15:00 BST as Kotaku reports. While Blizzard has not confirmed the group behind the attacks, an account called UkDrillas took credit for it on Twitter, tweeting a warning 30 minutes before each attack.

However, the account has since been suspended, and all tweets have been deleted.

When the attacks were taking place, Blizzard confirmed the problems on Twitter — assuring its player-base that it was trying to find a solution.

“Some online services continue to be impacted by a series of DDoS attacks which are resulting in high latency and disconnections,” said Blizzard’s North America customer service.

“These disruption effects have been felt by a portion of our players, impacting their gaming experience. Thank you again for your continued patience."
