World of Warcraft Classic managed to solve its overpopulation problems within just a few days and have a very successful launch week. The nostalgic experience seems to have drawn in more players than anticipated and servers (and Barrens chat...) are full of WoW fans new and old running through the original 2004 version of Azeroth.

As the first week  of World of Warcraft Classic comes to a close, it's no surprise that some super hardcore players are starting to ding 60 (including the world's first level 60 Classic player). What is surprising however is that that some guilds are not only working through Molten Core already, but actually taking down Ragnaros already... Oh, and did we mention they moved on to kill Onyxia too?

A lot of fans were expecting Method to come through with all of the World First achievements, but APES from Gehennas EU snuck up out of nowhere to surprise the masses and clear all of Molten Core by Saturday evening. The guild must've been incredibly well-organized in terms of leveling, gearing, and professions to prepare for the raid. Obviously they've had about 15 years to master the fights themselves, but getting properly geared and ready for them would have been the real challenge.

Molten Core only requires players to be level 55 to enter the Raid, so the composition of the team wasn't even composed of all level 60 players. The team brought in 12 healers for the kill (6 paladins and 6 priests), 3 tanks, and then a mix of DPS.

As if that wasn't impressive enough, the APES crew went on to get attuned for Onyxia's Lair nearly immediately and head into yet another raid. Just a few hours before the server reset the guild was able to slay Onyxia for yet another world first kill. That's a lot of achievements for week one...

Although this is incredibly impressive, it is obviously not the average experience most Classic players are going to have. The journey to level 60 alone will take weeks or months for some players and completing the phase 1 raids will still be a long way off. That said, it is still very fun to watch a guild like APES do what they have been preparing for all year.
