It's been a long road for Fallout 76, Bethesda's first attempt to take the franchise online. Unfortunately, the experience was not recieved well by fans for a variety of reasons ranging from bugs to other controversies, much of which have been hilariously covered by the Internet Historian. While there's still plenty to do for Bethesda, things have started to turn around with the promise of the Wastelanders update later this year and the well-received Nuclear Winter battle royale.

Thankfully, the summer updates don't stop there, as Bethesda has recently detailed what other fixes and content players can expect to see over the next couple of months in Fallout 76. For many, the headliner is going to be the new vault raids which arrive on August 20. This four-player mode has players exploring Vault 94 and uncover Vault-tec's experiment to see what happens when a society's ideals become reality. The missions will cycle each week over three weeks and players can earn new armor recipes with set bonuses as well as unique social rewards.

In addition to Vault Raids, Meat Week kicks off on Thursday, August 1, as the Super Mutant Grahm arrives to offer summer-themed items to players as well as allowing them to play and earn special currency, Legendary Scrip. Nuclear Winter will allow players to unlock their own perks using Overseer Tickets and a new map and other improvements arrive in September. For the rest of the summer updates, Bethesda released a roadmap of events.

While the general attitude towards Fallout 76 has improved from where it was, Bethesda continues to test the communities patience through the in-game Atomic Shop store. Although Bethesda previously claimed the Atomic Shop was for cosmetic items only, the studio added Repair Kits in April which many viewed as gameplay-affecting microtransactions.

It appears that wasn't the last addition though as Scrap Kits have also recently been added, essentially letting the player scrap junk items in their inventory and deliver it immediately to their stash, rather than go through the traditional and overly clunky design.

Fallout 76 is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
