Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's Blackout battle royale mode has seen a great deal of success, but so far it's been unclear if the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will have a battle royale mode as well. Lately, there have been more leaks and rumors pointing to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare having battle royale, and a ton of details about what it will entail may have just leaked.

This is thanks to TheGamingRevolution YouTube channel, known for accurately leaking Call of Duty news in the past. According to TheGamingRevolution, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare does in fact have a battle royale mode, and its battle royale map will be made up of original areas as well as familiar multiplayer maps from past Modern Warfare games.

Apparently, this includes the fan-favorite Shipment, along with Scrapyard, Wet Work, Vacant, Rust, Broadcast, Gulag (based on the Modern Warfare 2 story mission where players rescue Captain Price), Backlot, Boneyard, and Terminal. Some of these maps will also be available in standard multiplayer and the 2v2 Gunfight mode, with Shipment specifically singled out as a Gunfight map by TheGamingRevolution.

Gulag will also serve as a Gunfight multiplayer map, and it will have a special purpose in the battle royale as well. If TheGamingRevolution's information is accurate, players will spawn in the Gulag when they die and participate in a 2v2 fight instead of just spectating for the rest of the match.

TheGamingRevolution indicated that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's battle royale mode may be free-to-play. Additionally, it seems as though the map is being shared with the Spec Ops co-op mode, serving as that mode's "open world" hub. But before fans put too much stock in this information, we stress that it should be taken with a massive grain of salt, as there is a possibility that TheGamingRevolution has an inaccurate source.

As for when we might learn more about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's battle royale map in an official capacity, that remains to be seen. It's possible we will get confirmation of the battle royale mode during the August 1 multiplayer reveal, but it's generally assumed that event will focus on the traditional multiplayer modes instead. If Call Duty: Modern Warfare's battle royale mode does exist, though, we should hear about it within the next few months.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare launches on October 25 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
