An Amazon Prime Day preview is offering an early look at expected discounts for the upcoming online retailer's sales event. Amazon Prime Day in 2019 will be a two-day event full of unique discounts and sales across a broad swathe of items, from appliances and electronics to sportswear and baby products. Video games, hardware, and peripherals are also a major focus for Amazon Prime Day, with Twitch hosting a special livestream showcasing deals. Today's preview offers just a hint at what's to come.

Video game sales highlighted in the Amazon Prime Day preview include some impressive discounts on console hardware and peripherals. The two most notable discounts are for the PlayStation 4 Pro console and the Nintendo Switch. The offer is for up to 35% off on a Sony PS4 Pro bundle and a discount on a Nintendo Switch and $35 eShop Gift Card bundle. Exact pricing won't be available until Amazon Prime Day itself.

Other video game-related deals include discounts like 25% off a Nintendo Joy-Con set,  $40 off the Oculus Go 32GB VR headset, and a 50% discount on an Astro headset peripheral. Many more gaming-related sales are expected, but this hopefully provides an idea of what to expect.

Electronics are also going to be a large part of Amazon Prime Day's sales. The deals are bound to be a hot item for video game fans, too, as the nearing next generation of game consoles will offer more reason to invest in 4K televisions, PC components, and monitors. Amazon is promising up to 50% off some Sony LED Smart TVs, as well as "big" savings on a Samsung QLED 65" television. More generally, the preview says to expect up to 50% off PC gaming laptops, desktops, monitors, components, and accessories.

Amazon Prime Day runs from July 15 through July 16. This year's sale event includes free in-game content for Apex Legends and EA Sports titles, two 12-hour livestreams featuring popular Twitch hosts, and more for game fans. Alternatively, shoppers can also check out eBay's Crash Day sale, which will offer dozens of discounts should Amazon's website crash like it previous years.

Expect more details on Amazon Prime Day's assorted discounts and sales in the days to come.
