Elder Scrolls Online deep-dives the guild accessibility tools added in update 22

Whenever a big campaign for Elder Scrolls Online launches – and we’ve seen three come and go now! – the campaign itself always makes the news. New zone! New class! Enhanced cat people. And the underpinning update, the part that’s actually free for everyone, always gets a bit squished by the more dramatic content.

So we’re welcoming Elder Scrolls Online’s latest dev blog, which focuses on one of the major additions of the recent update 22: the new guild tools. Guilds in ESO aren’t exactly like guilds in traditional MMOs, but the update sought to make them easier to join and recruit for.

“In The Elder Scrolls Online, you can join up to five different 500-player Guilds. With Guild activities ranging from PvP to roleplaying to trading or simply helping newer players, there’s hundreds of Guilds in game right now. This means that looking for and joining a Guild can be a daunting experience for some players, and this is what the team looked to improve with Update 22. […] With the new Guild tools […] you can both find a new Guild and more easily advertise your own Guild as open for new applications. It even allows you to search and filter results to reflect different activities and experience requirements.”

The application UI is particularly noteworthy, as we can’t recall all that many MMOs with such a tool, even here in 2019.
