Bloodstained: Ritual of The Night Launches on PC and Consoles Today

It is time to go old school as the legendary Koji Igarashi’s Bloodstained Ritual of the Night drags players back into an Igavania for a new age.

Launching on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox One today, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is a homage to everything that Castlevania fans love about the long-running franchise. Featuring music by Mirichu Yamane (Castlevania: Symphony of the Night) and Ippo Yamada (Resident Evil), this new title leans heavily on the expertise of genre greats while bringing a brand new gothic horror to players.

Set in 18th century England, it follows the fate of an orphaned child, scarred by an alchemist curse. The protagonist, Miriam, is almost certainly doomed to her fate while her body slowly crystalizes around her. In order to avoid this fate, she must face a malevolent paranormal force that sits atop a demon infested castle. Players tackling this side-scrolling action RPG can take advantage of Miriam’s curse to utilize a range of spells, special abilities, and magical weapons. This is not the only arrow available to adventurers. Miriam can collect, loot and craft a range of these weapons, and armor, as she faces ever more difficult adversaries.

Anybody looking for an altogether different challenge will find a plethora of extras for the game. The “ Iga’s Back Pack “ DLC is already available for PC players and lets gamers challenge Koji Igarashi himself as a boss in-game and once defeated, earn the powerful Swordwhip weapon. This launch DLC will be available on consoles shortly and is augmented by a whole plethora of planned updates including speed runs, boss rush modes, and improved visuals.
