At E3 2019, the new Borderlands 2 DLC, Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary, was officially made available to the public, and beyond the new story for players to explore, there are also a ton of secrets to find. One of these secrets ties into the HBO adaptation of George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series, Game of Thrones, in the form of an Easter egg.

Fans of Game of Thrones will remember that the Stark children each get a direwolf in the first episode (and the first chapter of the book), and how Jon Snow's direwolf, Ghost, is the only one to make it to the end of the HBO adaptation. Arya's wolf, Nymeria, survives the events of the show but finds her own path off-screen. In the new Borderlands 2 DLC, players will come across Ghost once more (but no, petting him is not an option).

How to Find Ghost in the New Borderlands 2 DLC

During the 'A Hard Place' mission, players will be tasked with infiltrating the crashed Helios Station, and players will have to travel across an underground tunnel, called The Burrows, to get there. Players who explore thoroughly will find a snowy alcove in the Borderlands 2 Burrows and will find a strange sword there. Interact with it to spawn what appears to be a white Dire-skag named Ghost, an obvious hint at Jon Snow's direwolf.

It doesn't end there, though, as Borderlands 2 players who defeat Ghost will receive an artifact called Winter is Over. Obviously alluding to the controversial Game of Thrones season 8 ending theme, this artifact gives players a +21% buff to all incendiary damage. This really isn't surprising, though, as the whole DLC comes packed with tons of cool new loot.

Including the new rainbow rarity of Borderlands 2 loot, one of the best ways to obtain the cool new DLC loot is to beat the raid boss, Haderax the Invincible. Its speed and health regen make it a formidable foe, so players shouldn't expect it to go down as easy as Ghost.

Borderlands 2: Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
