A MOBA set in The Elder Scrolls universe may be in development, suggests new trademarks filed by Bethesda parent company ZeniMax Media. An announcement about the multiplayer game may come later today as Bethesda holds its annual E3 press conference.

Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages, an Elder Scrolls fan community, has dug up new images that have just been trademarked by ZeniMax, which is Bethesda's parent company. The trademarks, which were filed on June 4, 2019, show two triangles with a scroll going through the middle. There are two versions of this image, there's a black and white version as well as a colored version which is black, gold, with small splashes of red on the Elder Scroll.

The trademark confirms that this is for "computer game software" and so isn't a trademark for a new studio. Many fans are suggesting that the trademarks are for an Elder Scrolls MOBA. Two mockups published by graphic designers Luxape and Cory Schmitz show that the points of the triangles could be the starting positions for the teams, with three lanes running through the middle like in Dota 2 and League of Legends. Fans have also said that this trademark is probably not for a new DLC expansion for The Elder Scrolls Online as ZeniMax usually keeps the same Ouroboros logo and files trademarks for the DLC's name, as it did with The Elder Scrolls Online Summerset.

The development of an Elder Scrolls MOBA would also fit with job listings that we have seen from ZeniMax studios. The Elder Scrolls Online developer, ZeniMax Online, has just published job listings for a new multiplayer game. ZeniMax Online has confirmed that this new game will be a "major new IP" that uses a new game engine too which confirms that it isn't just a sequel to The Elder Scrolls Online.

If an Elder Scrolls MOBA is in development, then it may be announced later today, at the Bethesda E3 press conference. Bethesda has teased a range of surprises for fans and it is expected to be a big event. Fans had been disappointed when Bethesda confirmed that its hotly anticipated sci-fi RPG Starfield and other Elder Scrolls game, The Elder Scrolls 6, would not be making an appearance at this year's show. However, Elder Scrolls fans may still be happy with the announcement of a major new multiplayer game.
