Google Stadia is really shaping up to be a competitor. With a streaming service that will offer numerous high-profile games, its strength in the competition could not have been more evident than in today's initial Stadia Connect, where multiple mainstream titles like the previously-released The Division 2 and the upcoming Ghost Recon Breakpoint were announced to become available on Stadia.

Today's substantive Stadia Connect contained new information regarding Google's entry into the gaming industry. For example, Google Stadia's release window has been confirmed and many of the service's games have been announced. Ubisoft's The Division 2 and Ghost Recon Breakpoint were among the games announced.

Ghost Recon: Breakpoint was one of the first game's presented. With a brief gameplay trailer and narration by Jon Bernthal, initially added to Ghost Recon: WildlandsGhost Recon Breakpoint features intense stealth action with third-person mechanics similar to those of its predecessor. More details will be revealed about the game at Ubisoft's E3 2019 Press Conference on June 10.

The Division 2 was also one of the standout titles to be announced for Stadia. With commentary from Massive Entertainment Creative Director Julian Gerighty and Technical Director Calle Lejdfors, The Division 2 seems to be all that it is on PC and consoles by providing players with RPG mechanics and third-person firefights in familiar Washington D.C. settings. Lejdfors spoke highly of Ubisoft's relationship with Google, calling Google a "very open company" and knowledgeable in terms of infrastructure. He also said that bringing The Division 2 to Google Stadia has been a "learning experience" and a "thrilling journey," expressing excitement for what the future holds in terms of Stadia development.

A bevy of other games were announced for Google Stadia as well, including Mortal Kombat 11Destiny 2Trials Rising, Rage 2, and a host of others. Stadia-exclusive Get Packed will be coming to the service as well, illustrating that the console isn't restricted to third-party games.

As mentioned previously, many expect Google Stadia to be a contender on the gaming scene. While Stadia is not the first streaming service that the gaming industry has seen, Google is one of the largest tech companies in existence. As such, its entrance onto the gaming scene is likely to be at least somewhat impactful. Google Stadia's success is indeterminate at the moment and hinges in large part on the Google name and how gamers feel about gaming as a streaming service.

Google Stadia will be available in November 2019.
