Praised for its careful attention to storytelling and unique narrative options, Telltale Games came into its own last generation with hits like Telltale's The Walking Dead series, the Game of Thrones series, and Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series. Now, several months after the announcement of Telltale Games' foreclosure, additional games are being removed from digital game stores.

While this may seem initially alarming, certain Telltale games were removed from Steam a while ago, also as a result of the studio's upcoming shutdown, which was announced shortly after a large number of staff members were laid off. As such, some of the studio's games, like Back to the Future and Jurassic Park: The Game, have been taken off of Steam to liquidate Telltale's assets.

In addition to these games, more of Telltale's titles are being removed from digital stores. Tales From The Borderlands is the only additional Telltale game removed from Steam thus far. However, this game and all other Telltale games are soon to be removed from GOG, including the aforementioned Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series and The Wolf Among Us. As announced by Chandra from the GOG.com Team, "all the remaining Telltale titles will be delisted from our catalog on Monday, May 27, 10am UTC." The GOG.com Team member adds, "For everyone who purchased any of said titles prior to delisting, the games will remain in their GOG library."

Likely to the satisfaction of many, a 2K Games spokesperson reported to Eurogamer that the studio is "working to get Tales from the Borderlands back up on digital storefronts as soon as possible," adding, "All prior digital purchases of the game will of course still be honored and supported." Hopefully, the efforts from 2K Games will be fruitful.

As mentioned previously, it's not a total surprise to see these games disappear given recent events at Telltale Games. However, while these games were not always well received, Telltale's narrative prowess was frequently-praised, so some fans may be disappointed to see these games leaving digital storefronts. Thus far, there's no word on how Steam will handle Telltale's titles in the future, but the trend is not looking good.
