Albion Online has been on a rollercoaster since its free-to-play launch a month ago. While the influx of players and publicity no doubt has benefited the game, the increased numbers have triggered some truly horrific lag in the combat department. Fortunately, the team announced that it thinks that it has isolated the key issue and implemented a workaround for the time being that seems to help. “While we’re not happy with this workaround as a long term solution, we’re confident that fights are already be significantly better and you should be able to fight more smoothly than ever before,” the team reported.

Meanwhile, the game’s next major content update and the next leg of Oberson is live today. This mid-season patch is bringing a new expansion to Outland, a once-per-month portal binding, the ability to set your favorite island, and combat changes designed to increase the viability of tanks and bringing in more DPS variety.

“Three major new Outland regions have been added to the world of Albion: Siluria (equivalent in size and value to Cumbria) and West and East Glouvia (equivalent in size and value to West and East Anglia, respectively). While these regions will be claimable during the next Invasion Day (May 18), and will generate siphoned energy and spawn loot chests, they will not contribute season points to the current (sixth) GvG season. They will begin generating season points as normal at the beginning of Season 7.”
