After an exciting reveal at E3 2018, Fallout 76 hasn't been the game many expected it to be. Due in large part to game breaking bugs, server issues, bad PR, and plenty more, fan satisfaction with the game quickly hit a low point mere days after launch. While Bethesda has since acknowledged the less than ideal launch and has continued to patch and update the game with content, there's still much left to be done. One user has managed to document the entire ordeal, from reveal to launch and beyond, crafting a genuinely hilarious video for everyone to enjoy.

Called The Fall of 76, this latest video from a user known as Internet Historian covers the entire story of Fallout 76 from when it was first revealed in full, through the many issues, up to where the game is now. Using a lot of creative editing and photoshop skills, the video is also wildly entertaining when discussing some of the lesser interesting issues of the game itself. Things begin in June 2018, showcasing the many promises Bethesda made at its E3 showcase and then the resulting technical issues and glitches once the game went live to the public.

The video also does a great job at explaining some of the biggest controversies and odd PR moves that Bethesda made during the launch window. Some of the bigger post-launch controversies involved strange public relation moves like Bethesda demanding that suspected cheaters write an essay as to why using third party software is detrimental to an online game community. Another saw the studio ban a player who had too much ammo and spent 900 hours in-game. Plus, the duffel bag issue and its aftermath has its own dedicated chapter in the video as well.

The video also goes into great detail over the hidden dev room controversy, an area of the game that was intended to be restricted to developers. Players not only discovered the secret room, but found that it was filled with all sorts of powerful gear, weapons, and resources. There's been a lot of back and forth between developers and players as well as a lot of bans, but it appears that the controversy still rages on to this day.

For all the negativity surrounding the title currently, including the recent pay to win concerns in the in-game Atomic Shop, it is worth mentioning that Bethesda has made a number of big additions to the game. As part of the content roadmap for 2019, the first major free expansion known as Wild Appalachia launched back in March with new quests to undertake. Since then the studio has released smaller updates like a new Dungeon, new challenges, a new Faction called The Pioneer Scouts, and many more quality of life updates. The game may still have a ways to go to get back into the good graces of fans, but it's a start for now.

Fallout 76 is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
