One of Anthem's most anticipated additions planned for April, according to the game's current roadmap, is a new Stronghold by the name of The Sunken. Given BioWare's radio silence in recent weeks, some were worried The Sunken's release might be delayed. It seems that those worries were premature, however, as BioWare's now released its first teaser for The Sunken and plans to unveil Anthem's first post-launch stronghold in an upcoming livestream.

BioWare confirmed its upcoming Stronghold reveal livestream Thursday afternoon on Twitter, consequently announcing that The Sunken is still on track for release in April. The livestream will run April 17 starting at 1:00 pm Pacific and will be hosted by Anthem's lead producer, Ben Irving. Irving's the usual host for Anthem's livestreams, so it's likely to be a casual affair with lots of community interaction.

As for The Sunken's teaser, it appropriately will leave Anthem fans wanting more. The image features a Ranger Javelin standing on a cliffside overlooking a Shaper facility of some sort. The facility is crumbling to the point of being considered ruins, with a cave structure surrounding a central platform. Of note are the odd pillar of light at the center of the platform and the assorted shadowed enemies standing around.

It's difficult to make any assumptions based off of just one teaser, a teaser that looks like many such Shaper complexes found in Anthem. That said, going off of the teaser image and The Sunken title for the Stronghold, it's probably safe to assume players will be exploring further into the earth. And fighting what they discover there.

The Sunken remaining on schedule for release will likely please Anthem players, but it remains just one of several planned content additions for the game in April. Beyond the new Stronghold, BioWare's roadmap also lists major features including Guilds and a Leaderboard system. Irving will hopefully either also show these features in next Wednesday's livestream or discuss whether they remain planned for release in April. Either way, it'll be a good indication as to whether Anthem's first major Cataclysm event is also still planned for launch in May.

Anthem is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
